Mardi Gras 2008 : King Cake Time!

Mardi Gras is upon us. It’s on february 5th this year. We had our first king cake last night. Man, I love those things! It had a cream cheese filling. Not the best one I have ever had, but at least I had one! It’s been too long. I may get a fresh king cake every day this year! lol

I found two sites that may help you that deal with Mardi Gras. One is king cakes.   The recipe is awesome! Love the pic too. I may try to make this tonight.

It has a listing of all of the Mardi Gras parade routes around New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Good to know.

What is a Cajun?

What is a Cajun? I know the food is good, but what are they? I found a good answer from Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cajun

Basically they are a group that moved from france to Nova Scotia and then to Louisiana.

They sure have awesome food!!

Cool New Cajun Site With Recipes And Lots More

I found a really cool new site about Cajuns. Actually, it’s my friend’s. He has worked really hard on it.

Go check it out if you want to. He talks about Cajun food, recipes, music, jokes, crawfish, and lots more. Pretty neat.

Anyways, I really do recommend looking at it.  He is a real Cajun from Louisiana, and he knows a lot about the Cajun history,  His cooking is the bomb too!!

Cajun Food

My favorite food is Cajun food.  That’s an easy one for me.  My favorite Cajun food is probably boiled crawfish.  Would you believe that I can eat 40 pounds by myself?  It takes me all day, but I really can.  Nuts huh?  lol  Love Cajun food!!

Know Any Indian Food Recipes?

I know this sounds sick to some, but I do love Indian food.  I grew up on it.  My parents’ friends were from India.  I must have eaten it every other day.

I have a few recipes.  I need more.  Got any you can share??
